Make a decorative scrap patch, ornament or bookmark

This intermediate craft workshop allows children and young people to learn how to upcycle old clothing into something attractive that they’ll actually use.

Using simple collage and hand-sewing skills, they will take scrap fabric from old clothes and create a textile collage, then use needle and thread to stitch it into a mending patch, hanging ornament or bookmark.

For school aged children.

Suitable for children and young people who can follow multi-step directions and work independently for longer periods. Must be able to use scissors proficiently.

Basic sewing skills such as threading a needle and knotting thread would be useful but are not essential.
