The Merri-bek community is invited to a celebration and launch of two awesome community initiatives – the 2021 Community Climate Action Series and the new Newlands Community Garden Project.
This term, our Community Climate Action Series (run by Neighbours United for Climate Action and Newlands Parents for Climate Action) will focus on connection and reflection and what better way to reset, connect with the land we stand on, acknowledge our history and develop our sense of responsibility both to country and to taking climate action than with a Smoking Ceremony and Welcome to Country with Uncle Bill Nicholson, Wurundjeri Elder and educator.
Followed by afternoon tea, natives planting and damper making for the kids!
As always, this is a free community event and all are welcome.
