We know that the way our kids move around Merri-bek matters – to their health, their safety, their confidence and their future.
As part of Merri-bek City Councils’ vision to help create a zero-carbon community by 2040, we want to enable and encourage children and families within Merri-bek to choose more sustainable transport modes on their journeys to and from school, such as walking, scooting, cycling or catching public transport.
Ride & Stride program
We are offering two local primary schools the opportunity to take part in our 2021 Ride & Stride Pilot, a program designed to get more of Moreland’s children and families travelling actively, creating healthier and happier people and places in Moreland!
The two schools selected for the Ride & Stride Pilot will work with council to design a bespoke, integrated program to encourage active travel to and from the school gates. The program will be delivered in Term 2 and 3.
The program, valued at up to $15,000 per school, will combine investment in technological active travel equipment for the school, specifically trialling the installation of a gamified transport technology, along with a suite of active travel behaviour change initiatives that are selected by and delivered with students, teachers, parents/carers and the local community.
How to sign up?
