Join us for an inspiring evening celebrating the power of community-led environmental leadership.
This free community event will highlight the stories of women and gender-diverse leaders who are driving environmental change. Through storytelling and interactive discussions, we’ll explore the past, present, and future of environmental changemaking in the Merri-bek area and beyond.
Hear from incredible local voices, including:
- Cr Helen Davidson, Merri-bek City Council Mayor
- Ann McGregor OAM, President, Merri Creek Management Committee
- Denise Cauchi, Interim CEO, Climate Action Network Australia
- Nathacha Subero, Acting Manager, Reynard St Neighbourhood House
- Emma Bacon, Executive Director, Sweltering Cities
Facilitated by Kulja Coulston (Broadcaster, Senior Policy Advisor at Australian Institute of Company Directors and former Communications Lead at Climateworks Centre), this is a chance to connect with others who care about our environment and our future.
You’ll also have the opportunity to explore WELA’s Stories of Change: A Collective Timeline—an evolving interactive installation that weaves together the stories of women and gender-diverse leaders in environmental advocacy, First Nations activism, and social movements.
This event is part of Merri-bek Council’s commitment to supporting the next generation of local environmental leaders through the Merri-bek WELA Scholarship, and WELA’s mission to amplify community-led change.
Whether you’re deeply involved or just starting your journey, this is a space to connect, reflect, and be inspired to take action.
