Many primary schools are already working hard to encourage their kids to walk, ride and scoot. Merri-bek City Council want to support more schools to inspire families to travel safely and sustainably.

Council has worked with 11 local primary schools over the last 3 years of the Ride & Stride program and are looking for schools to work with in 2024.

We’ve seen active travel rates increase up to 65% on average, car travel reduce by up to 20% at some schools, and issues with traffic and congestion outside the school gates decrease as a result of the range of Ride & Stride initiatives delivered.
