Do you have a 5kW or larger household solar system? Are you interested in solar batteries?

Virtual Power Plant Pilot

The Victorian Government has just announced a new program through Solar Victoria. The Virtual Power Plant (VPP) pilot program will link eligible households with solar batteries to support the grid with clean renewable energy.

VPPs are a better, cleaner way to access energy, enabling Victorian households to create, share and manage power together. When demand for electricity is high, stored energy can be shared with the VPP, taking stress off peak times for fewer disruptions, more stable services and, ultimately, cheaper power.

More savings

As part of the pilot, households will receive a rebate at a fixed rate of $4,174 towards the upfront cost of solar battery and installation. Households in the program will also be able to access more affordable energy deals, be paid for excess energy or storage, and be instrumental in Victoria’s transition to a safe and clean energy future.

Are you eligible?

To be eligible for this program households must fulfill several criteria, including having installed or planned household solar PV panels with a capacity equal to or greater than 5kW; be owner-occupiers of the property; and have a combined household taxable income less than $180,000.
