Celebrate Art, Science and the Merri Creek
You’re invited to join the Merri-Bek Community as we celebrate the stories of Merri Creek through art, science, and sustainability.
Learn about our local ecology, the natural ecosystems, flora and fauna and participate in creative workshops facilitated by artists, where you will discover how to channel your inspiration into a piece of art!
We’ll hear from knowledgeable scientists, speak to local community groups and you’ll have the opportunity to share personal stories and fond memories of the creek too. This event is a chance to learn from each other, collaborate and say “thank you” to our treasured natural landscape. Bring your friends, bring your family! We welcome everyone 🙂
The event will be held by Merri Creek, near the Harding Street Bridge in East Coburg. You can find a pin here
Following this event there will be an exhibition, “Together for A Day” at Necchi Neighbour Hood House. Over two weeks the exhibition will demonstrate the power of gathering, sharing and collective creativity, showcasing artworks created on the day for the wider community and celebrating the richness of diversity and skills within the Merri-Bek Community.
This event will be held on the lands and waterways of the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung people of the Kulin Nation. We acknowledge their deep enduring connection to the land and culture. We pay respects to their elders past, present and emerging. Always was, always will be.
