Got a worn or torn denim piece in need of repair?
Bring your favourite denim items along to RMIT’s 2-hour introduction to Sashiko stitching!
You will learn the basics of this Japanese stitching technique, through repairing worn and much-loved denim from your wardrobe.
All you need to bring is your denim jeans and/or denim jackets to be repaired and everything else will be supplied.
This workshop is suitable for all ages and designed to support participants in creatively exploring this traditional Japanese stitching technique.
RMIT will provide: Sashiko threads, yarns, repair tools/equipment, printed/plain cotton and denim fabrics for patching.
Please bring with you: Denim jeans and/or jackets for repairing.
