Your food and garden waste becomes food for Moreland’s Community Gardens

Ever wondered what happens to the contents in your food and garden organics bin after its picked up?

It turns into beautiful rich compost at a bulk compost facility and delivered to gardens and farms all over Victoria.

This wonderful resource is being used in Merri-bek thanks to a donation of bulk compost to six community gardens, including Peppertree Place in Coburg (pictured above). Organics recycler Veolia provided the compost and Merri-bek City Council delivery as part of the Back to Earth initiative.

Your food and green waste is helping grow fresh healthy delicious foods in these gardens and supporting the health and wellbeing of our Merri-bek community.
