Researchers at the University of Melbourne are conducting a study on how people living in apartments and units experience energy use and costs as Victoria moves away from fossil gas.
Victoria’s gas-to-electric transition risks leaving some households behind — particularly renters and apartment dwellers who face real barriers to electrifying their homes. This research aims to make sure your voice is heard in decisions that affect you.
Who can participate?
Adults (18+) living in a multi-dwelling unit (apartment, unit, or townhouse) in Victoria who currently have gas appliances, or have had them in the past three years.
We’re interested in your experiences with energy at home – whether you’re actively considering electrification or haven’t thought about it yet.
What’s involved?
A short online survey (10–15 minutes) and, potentially, a one-hour conversation about your experiences. Research participants receive a supermarket e-voucher as a thank you.
Your responses are kept confidential and won’t be shared with landlords, property managers, or owners corporations.
